Overview
Ice Age Explorer is an educational Earth Science game developed for classroom use at EarthScienceIsCool.com. This document outlines our commitment to student privacy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Data Collection Summary
What We Collect:
Username - School-assigned username in lowercase (lastname.firstname format)
PIN Code - Teacher-assigned 4-digit verification code (not visible to other students)
Game Scores - Points earned in each educational game
Timestamps - When scores were submitted
What We Do NOT Collect:
β Email addresses
β Full names (only username-derived display name)
β Personal identifying information beyond username
β Location data
β Device information
β Browsing history
β Third-party tracking or analytics
Identity Verification
To ensure students can only submit scores under their own username, a PIN-based verification system is used:
Each student receives a unique 4-digit PIN from their teacher
The PIN is required only on first score submission
After verification, the device is trusted for future submissions
Teachers can reset verification or regenerate PINs if needed
This prevents students from submitting scores under another student's name
