About Me - Scott Danville
I currently teach Accelerated Earth Science in the Beekmantown Central School District. Over my career I have taught High School Regents and Non-Regents Earth Science, Historical, and Structural Geology, and Physical Science. I am a strong believer that Earth Science education is critical to better understanding and appreciating greater sustainability for our future.
My Site
I continue to develop this site for ease of use by my students and their parents. One goal that I have is to produce a simple interface for kids to access important information about my course and companion information about Earth Science in general. I began developing my website in 1995 just prior to when I worked in the Greater Amsterdam School District as an Earth Science teacher. It has evolved and serves my students. If you have any suggestions, please email me.

My Course
I teach 9 units, about 1 per month, based on the New York State Standards for Earth Science. I have developed my own curriculum that I use with my students. My activities are lab and inquiry based. I have found that what I find so interesting about Earth Science is natural to teach to my students. I take great pride in educating kids and peaking their intellectual curiosities. I see them imagine themselves as scientists or scientific thinkers. Their realization of this is enchanting and motivates me to work harder as their teacher.
